The global shortage of chips and the reduction of production by manufacturers have made manufacturers in the fields from automobiles to electronic products uneasy. To alleviate this phenomenon, the Foxconn Group has been seeking to acquire global chip factories to meet customer needs. Foxconn’s main customers include electronics giants such as Apple.
Foxconn plans to complete the acquisition of the wafer manufacturing plant by the end of this year, and to produce 15,000 wafers per month by 2024 to provide semiconductors for 30,000 electric vehicles.

Foxconn's acquisition is of great significance. In recent months, Foxconn announced that it will participate in the global electric vehicle market, actively negotiate with OEMs that have the potential to cooperate, and have a joint venture with Yageo to produce small integrated circuit products.
The target output this time is small, but this is only the beginning. Foxconn will take the Hsinchu wafer factory as the center to develop the global electric vehicle market. (Author/Yi Luwei Wang Xiaobin)
