On the same day, at the Huawei 2021 Full Connect Conference, Huawei Vice President and President of Computing Product Line Deng Taihua announced the official release of the first full-scene version of the openEuler open source operating system.

Deng Taihua said that servers, storage, cloud, edge, base stations, etc. all require operating systems. We hope to open up applications through a unified operating system architecture. Today we have fully opened up this capability and upgraded Euler from server to cloud to edge. Embedded scenes from computing to CT and OT become a unified open source operating system for digital infrastructure.

Specifically, this unification is not a simple superposition of functions. New Euler adopts full component atomization, supports flexible core combination, and full-stack service-oriented IT construction. It can support flexible tailoring according to equipment and service requirements, and build different operating systems on demand. Version to meet the requirements of different devices for the operating system. At the same time, it supports the construction of service self-organizing network, and supports menu-style configuration of kernel and system services. It can be freely combined for different levels of software package, file level, and function level, simplifying version construction.

Euler also provides a multi-device collaboration kit to achieve mutual assistance and resource sharing between different devices. In this way, one development covers the whole scene. Through a set of standard APIs, ICT and OT provide a unified API for all scenarios to realize the unification of operating system application interaction languages. At the same time, the data capabilities, audio and video capabilities, and security capabilities required by various applications are uniformly packaged through the Euler SDK to achieve minimalist development.

The first innovative version of openEuler 21.09 that supports all scenarios of digital infrastructure officially released at this conference will be launched in the community on September 30. This version enhances server and cloud computing scenario capabilities, and supports edge computing and embedded scenarios for the first time. Huawei's system enhances its scenario-based capabilities through community co-construction and partner joint creation. It will release an LTS version that supports the integration of all scenarios in the community in March next year, enabling partners to release commercial releases for different scenarios.

Up to now, more than 6000 developers and more than 100 companies, universities, organizations and institutions have joined the Euler community, bringing together partners in the entire industry chain from processors, complete machines, operating system release vendors, to industry applications, etc. More than a dozen leading companies in mainstream operating systems have released commercial versions based on Euler. Euler's new release will attract more partners in the cloud, edge, and embedded fields to join the community, and jointly accelerate Euler's wide-ranging application in the entire field of digital infrastructure.
Euler will get through with Hongmeng

Euler and Hongmeng operating systems have different positioning. Euler is an open source operating system for digital infrastructure, and Hongmeng is a smart terminal operating system for the Internet of Everything.
