TRINAMIC Introduces World's Smallest Patented StealthChopTM Single-Chip Motor Driver

Suelte en : 11 oct. 2019

On October 8th, TRINAMIC Motion Control Co., Ltd. announced the launch of the world's smallest single-chip motor driver with patented StealthChopTM technology. The TMC2300 sets up a standard range of 1.2A RMS and a voltage range of 1.8V...11V DC for 2-phase stepper motors. It requires minimal power consumption and makes it virtually impossible to detect the presence of a motor. From now on, you only need one or two lithium-ion batteries or two AA batteries to drive innovation. The TMC2300 is a solution for battery-powered stepper motors that need to be invisible. The two-phase stepper motor driver is quiet, compact, accurate, and extremely efficient, with standby current consumption less than 50nA, which changes the way motors are used in portable devices and the Internet of Things.

TMC2300 single-chip

The lowest power consumption comes from Trinamic's cutting-edge StealthChop2 chopper and chip using the extremely low resistance of an integrated charge pump. Used in conjunction with CoolStepTM for extended uptime and up to 90% energy savings, the TMC2300 is ideal for IoT and handheld devices, battery-powered devices, POS and printers, toys, office and home automation equipment, including intelligent thermostat cooling Valves, micro medical equipment and many other applications

Michael Randt, founder and CEO of Trinamic, said: "The TMC2300 is the world's smallest single-chip motor driver, combined with StealthChop, StallGuard and CoolStep for lowest power consumption, allowing stepper motors to be seamlessly integrated into the environment without Will affect performance. Small size is the perfect low-voltage solution for big innovation."

The low-voltage stepper drive combines Trinamic's latest technologies (such as StealthChop2TM and StallGuard4TM) to integrate the stepper motor with the surrounding environment, eliminating the need for sensorless home position switches. This provides new applications for portable devices, including medical applications: their users don't want their little helpers to notice that they use the most advanced technology. Because the TMC2300 does not affect performance, it is also ideal for turning a fixed device into a portable battery-powered device that is easy to use.

Features and benefits:

· 2-phase stepper motor driver up to 1.2A RMS

· Battery-powered devices (at least 2 AA / NiMH batteries 1-2 lithium-ion batteries) with a voltage range of 1.8V...11V DC

· Standby current consumption <50nA (typical).

· Single line UART and Step / Dir interface

· Up to 256 times microstepping

· StallGuard4TM and StealthChop2TM

· CoolStepTM energy saving and automatic standby current reduction

· QFN20 (3x3) package

Trinamic's TMC2300 uses all of the latest current control and diagnostics to power stepper motors with battery voltages as low as 1.8V, enabling smarter, more efficient, and fully silent battery-powered devices. Trinamic's smallest single-chip motor driver was introduced in October, setting the standard for advanced low-voltage and high-efficiency stepper motor drives.
